Hello World: April Newsletter
Share on

Hello Q2! Our team is beyond excited to begin the new quarter, and we grow stronger everyday. We grew slowly after our initial launch in July 2023, but during Q1 of 2024 our community exploded to nearly 50,000 members. With this newsletter we hope to communicate our gratitude and appreciation to our community and partners who have been such an important part of the journey.

Community, Community, Community

No matter where you’re located or what language you speak, we’re committed to delivering high-end zero-knowledge education to every single member of our community. Members can take full advantage of our initiatives such as our highly prestigious Education Hub - led by cryptography veteran Professor Jeroen van de Graff - Research Presentation AMAs, and our hugely popular House of ZK (virtual and IRL).

These initiatives are intended to be open resources for our community members to gain a first rate education, accompanied by close community collaboration and vibrant conversation.

We’re still Early!

Have you participated in our Early Contributor Program (ECP)? We launched our Alpha Testnet in February, enabling the opportunity for developers to test our state of the art zkVM by generating a proof or building an application. This is only the first step, and we have BIG plans ahead. Our general purpose zkVM will allow for seamless multi-chain verification across previously disparate blockchain ecosystems. You can learn more about our general purpose zkVM and our Entangled Rollup design here

The ZKM team invites those who wish to contribute to the growth and development of our project to our ECP Contributor Boards. Your collaboration, input, and feedback is paramount; we look to our community to understand how we can improve and how we can cater to your growth in return for your contributions. Head to the ‘Early Contributor Program’ section of our Discord to get started: discord.com/invite/projectzkm

As our community grows, so do we! We’ve taken a giant leap into the spotlight, featuring prominently at some of the most prestigious blockchain-related conferences, meeting and onboarding new members, as well as collaborating with potential new partners. Our team has taken the stage alongside other industry leaders from projects such as Matter Labs, Manta, OPLabs, OKX, Crypto.com, Polygon, Starknet, and more. You can expect to see our team at more conferences and events throughout the year, so be sure to follow us on X to stay up to date on what’s happening and what’s coming next.

We also launched our first-ever House of ZK Hacker House during EthDenver. The House of ZK is our signature event, where developers from various ecosystems come together to work and share their ideas in a productive and highly supportive space. Stay up-to-date for the announcement of our next HoZK Hacker House by joining our Discord or following our Twitter.
In addition to the Hacker House events, we’re incredibly proud to present its virtual counterpart - House of ZK Radio - a focused podcast and media channel exploring everything zero-knowledge, from fundamental principles to the latest advancements. The content is intended to be clear and accessible, catering to all listeners. The first episode of the podcast is set to go live in late April!

Jolt and Lasso: A New Approach to Building zkVMs
Using zkMIPS, a client can outsource a program written using the MIPS instruction set, have it executed, and in addition to getting the result, receive an easily verifiable proof that this result is correct. The software component that creates this proof is called a zkVM.
